A day at the Races

Brampton Manor Care Home part of the Boutique Care Homes Group opened in June 2021 offering bespoke residential and dementia care for the people of Newmarket and the surrounding community.  On Saturday July 16h the home was lucky enough to be able to be a sponsor at the prestigious July Course at Newmarket races.
Brampton Manor staff got to spend a day at the races along with two of our residents the very special Valerie and Jean.  Valerie has been a resident at Brampton Manor now for almost 6 months and Saturday was the first time in her life that she had been to the races.  Both ladies looked so elegant and had an amazing time soaking up the atmosphere and the sunshine with an afternoon of horse racing.
Being a sponsor entitled our group to not only enjoy the racing but to be a part of the race itself being invited to be a part of the pre-race judging of the “Best Turned-Out Horse” within the parade ring as well as the post-race trophy presentation congratulating the winning jockey.
As you can see from our photographs, the weather was fantastic and everyone from staff to residents really had an amazing time and being able to enter the parade ring, present prizes and being involved in all the presentations made the day even more special for everyone lucky enough to attend.
What made the Brampton Manor Handicap race even more special was that many of the group bet on the winning horse!
Truly a day that everyone will remember, and everyone hopes that we can be a part of for many years to come.
