National Care Home Open Day

Today we celebrated National Care Home Open Day showcasing 'Art at The Burlington' with our residents, family members and guests including local Community, Celebrity and talented students from Thamesmead School who performed numbers from 'Grease The Musical', as well as an entertaining performance by Shepperton's 'Stars' with their captivating rendition of ‘Somewhere over the Rainbow’ from Wizard of Oz.

Refreshments and Chef's home-baked biscuits and cakes were served thoughout the day and local artist Peggy Pickering was fundraising for local Dementia Support Group 'Purple Angels', alongside rock painting and an exhibition of some of the fantastic photography taken by resident Marc De Henrie during his 70 years career in the Hollywood Film Industry and for The Kennel Club who was represented by Heidi Hudson, Curator of Photographic Collection. Marc's exhibition will continue thoughout the weekend for an opportunity for those who werent able to attend today's event to admire his amazing work!

The day's proceedings were closed by Residents, guess and Team members giving a heartfelt send off to Receptionist Sarah MacIntyre, who leaves The Burlington to prepare for the birth of her baby Son next month and we all look forward to cuddles with him when she brings him into visit us!
