A Reflection of June at Our Homes
We’ve taken a moment to pause, reflect, and appreciate the special moments we’ve shared across the month of June. It’s often the little things that linger like a smile between intergeneration, a story shared over tea, or the quiet kindness of someone going out of their way for others.
Brampton in Full Colour:
Brampton Manor was celebrating Pride in full colour! June was a vibrant month filled with celebration, connection, and community spirit. One of the standout highlights of the month was our joyful Pride Month celebration. Our residents embraced the spirit with open arms and warm hearts, creating a beautiful rainbow cake that was every bit as delicious as it was eye-catching. It became a centrepiece for the day, not just a sweet treat, but a symbol of love, individuality and creativity.
With the sun shining, we took our celebration outdoors, sipping fruity cocktails and enjoying colourful ice lollies in the garden. It was a relaxed and happy afternoon. Residents and team members discussed their memories, their experiences, and what Pride means to them. It was a safe and inclusive space that was full of laughter, honesty, and mutual respect.
Helen’s Beautiful Gesture
A truly heartwarming part of the month came from our wonderful team member, Helen. Inspired by the spirit of Pride, she took it upon herself to make and sell handmade bracelets to raise money for charity. With her beautiful designs and generous heart, she raised an incredible £187.00.
- £127.00 was donated to MindOut, the LGBTQ Mental Health Project. This will help fund six free counselling sessions for those in need, a vital service that remains accessible.
- £60.00 was donated to Cheerful Sparrows Charity, which supports local individuals and families facing hardship.
Helen’s efforts reminded us of all those small acts of kindness makes a big difference. Her bracelets were more than just beads and string, they were tokens of love, acceptance, and community spirit.
Beyond the big moments, June was full of those gentle, everyday joys that are the heartbeat of Brampton Manor. Sunlit afternoons in the garden, favourite songs played on the piano, a shared crossword puzzle or a giggle between the residents and their families. These are the memories that quietly build a sense of belonging and home.
As we step into August, we carry the spirit of June with us. Proud of who we are, grateful for one another, and always looking forward to the next beautiful moment.
