A Seaside Escape to Remember: Brampton Manor Visits Felixstowe

There’s something truly timeless about a day at the seaside, and for our residents and their families at Brampton Manor, our recent trip to Felixstowe was filled with all the joys you’d hope for. Plus a few surprises along the way!

The excitement began the moment we boarded the coach, with toe-tapping tunes and a few familiar singalong favourites, the journey soon turned into a mini concert on wheels. It was a cheerful, light-hearted start that had everyone smiling before we even reached the coast.

Felixstowe welcomed us with open arms, as you may know Felixstowe is a Blue Flag seaside resort known for its sandy beach, traditional pier, and beautiful gardens. The town’s well-kept seafront, with touches of Victorian and Edwardian elegance, offering the perfect place for a seaside escape.

• American Socialite, Wallis Simpson stayed in Felixstowe while awaiting divorce from her second husband.

On arrival, we headed straight for a classic seaside lunch: fish and chips, a British favourite of course! Enjoyed together with resident’s and their family members and our wonderful team, it was a delicious moment of togetherness, shared stories, and plenty of laughter.

After lunch, we strolled gently down to the Felixstowe promenade, soaking up the fresh sea air, watching the waves roll in, and taking in the simple joy of being beside the seaside. The walk along the pier brought back fond memories for many residents, recalling childhood holidays and family outings from years gone by. It was a beautiful reminder of how meaningful these shared moments can be.

And of course, no trip to the seaside would be complete without ice cream! With classic cones in hand (and maybe a few sticky fingers too), we enjoyed a sweet treat before heading home.

It was a day full of sunshine, laughter, and connection – and a perfect example of what we mean when we say our care is about more than just the everyday.
