A Slice of Community Spirit: Boutique Care Homes Support Macmillan Coffee Morning 2025

This September 2025, Boutique Care Homes family proudly joined thousands of others across the country in hosting the Macmillan Coffee Morning.

On Friday 26th September, our Boutique Care Homes family proudly joined thousands of others across the country in hosting the Macmillan Coffee Morning – an annual fundraiser that’s all about coming together over coffee, cake, and community spirit to support those living with cancer.

It’s a cause that touches so many lives, and we were thrilled to see our homes buzzing with laughter, music, and the sweet aroma of freshly baked treats, all in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of our residents, families, teams, and local friends, together we raised vital funds that will help Macmillan continue to provide life-changing support for people affected by cancer.

The Burlington – Coffee, Cake and a Song

At The Burlington, the morning was a feast for the senses. With tables piled high with homemade cakes and the room alive with chatter, clinking cups, and the uplifting sound of live music from the wonderful Dan Stark.

A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who baked, donated, and joined us. Together, The Burlington community raised an incredible £185.13 for Macmillan Cancer Support, a wonderful achievement that shows just how powerful small acts of kindness can be when shared.

Brampton Manor – Cakes, Community and Gratitude

Over at Brampton Manor, cake was once again the star of the show! Residents, families, and team members gathered to share homemade bakes from the kitchen team, led by our talented chef Adrian.

There was plenty of time for good conversation, laughter, and heartfelt thanks, with residents’ families sharing how much they enjoy joining the Brampton Manor community for special moments like these. David’s family expressed their appreciation for Adrian and his team, recognising their hard work and the joy their baking brings. The home raised a brilliant £216.00!

For Brampton, it was about raising money for a brilliant cause but also celebrating our incredible in-house team who make these occasions so memorable.

Chartwell House – A Slice of Fun and Friendly Competition

At Chartwell House, the morning took a playful twist with a Miss Trunchbull cake-eating competition (congratulations to Martin from Boutique’s Head Office who claimed victory by just a slice!), a lively quiz, and even a mystery “blind cake” auction.
The highlight of the day? A bidding war over our chef’s show-stopper vanilla cake, which finally went under the hammer for £30! Thanks to the generosity of all who attended, baked, donated, and cheered along, the home raised a fantastic £353.78.
A big round of applause also goes to our brave cake-eating contestants, including Chris from 107.8 Academy FM Thanet, our very own Tina, family member Sue, and of course, Martin – for giving us all such a laugh while raising money for a truly important cause.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Across our homes, the Macmillan Coffee Morning was more than just a chance to enjoy tea and cake – it was a celebration of community, compassion, and the power of coming together. Every slice eaten, every donation given, and every moment shared has helped Macmillan continue their incredible work, ensuring no one faces cancer alone.

From all of us at Boutique Care Homes, thank you to our residents, families, teams, and wider communities for making this year’s Coffee Morning such a heart-warming success. Together, we raised smiles, spirits, and vital funds for a cause close to all our hearts.
