Chartwell House in Broadstairs spent an inspiring day at EKC Broadstairs College this month, taking part in the very first Thanet Youth-Led Careers Summit.

Jude Coveney and Lauren Moore from Chartwell House in Broadstairs spent an inspiring day at EKC Broadstairs College this month, taking part in the very first Thanet Youth-Led Careers Summit, an innovative event designed by students, for students, to help shape their future career journeys in health and social care and other sectors

The Summit exceeded all expectations, with students taking the lead in planning, organising, and delivering a day full of thoughtful discussions, interactive workshops, and meaningful employer engagement. Local businesses from across the Thanet community came together, each showing their commitment to supporting the EKC Broadstairs College and its young people as they explore careers in care and other rewarding professional pathways.

Jude and Lauren from Chartwell House were proud to represent the care home at this pioneering Youth-Led Careers Summit. Chartwell House has pledged its continued support to the college, with a shared ambition to explore fresh, creative, and impactful ways of engaging with students as they develop confidence, skills, and aspirations for working in social care and related fields.

Jude Coveney, Admissions Manager at Chartwell House, said, “We were truly blown away by the students’ professionalism, passion, and creativity. This Summit wasn’t just impressive; it was truly inspiring. Supporting young people in Thanet is incredibly important to us at Chartwell House. Our home is part of a wider community, and events like this strengthen those connections in such a meaningful way. We’re committed to championing local talent, opening doors to new experiences, and helping students see the many rewarding career paths available within social care. We can’t wait to continue this partnership and look forward to being involved again next year.”

Chartwell House extends its thanks to EKC Broadstairs College for hosting such a successful and forward-thinking event. The home looks ahead with enthusiasm to further collaboration and to supporting the Summit’s growth in the years to come, as more young people in Thanet discover the fulfilling opportunities that social care careers can offer.
