Dancing Through the Decades at Brampton Manor: Newmarket Tea Dance

Brampton Manor hosts the Newmarket Tea Dance, a heartwarming celebration of history, music, and community connection.

Brampton Manor was buzzing with energy, laughter, and the sound of dancing feet as it played proud host to the Newmarket Tea Dance Community on 25th July. A heartwarming celebration of history, music, and community connection.

The Tea Dances started off as part of afternoon social gatherings that combined dancing with tea and light refreshments. Originated in the late 1800s, the tradition of tea dances became widely popular in Britain during the early 20th century. People would dance, mingle and enjoy music in a relaxed day time setting, where popular dance styles included the waltz, tango, and the lively Charleston.

Organised in partnership with the Newmarket Tea Dance Committee, Brampton Manor opened its doors and welcomed around 60 guests who came together to enjoy a vibrant afternoon of classic tunes, elegant moves, and good old-fashioned camaraderie. The Bistro was transformed into a lively vintage haven echoing the golden days. The Newmarket Tea Dance offered something special for everyone, and this event did exactly that.

From graceful waltzes to upbeat salsa steps, there was a dance style to suit everyone’s taste and ability. And for those who preferred to tap their toes from the sidelines, the cake and tea combo was just delightful! The Newmarket Tea Dance brought a sense of togetherness with a beautiful blend of the team and residents at Brampton Manor, as well as uniting the community with a blend of music and dance. The room was filled with warm chatter and shared smiles that stay with you long after the music stopped.

A member of the Newmarket Tea Dance Committee put it perfectly “The event reminded me that joy doesn’t need to be complicated, all it requires is music, dance and good company.”

The celebration was more than just an event; the Newmarket Tea Dance was a shining example of how meaningful experiences can bring us together and lift spirits. Here’s to many more shared moments and celebrations at the Brampton Manor in Newmarket.
