New Sight Loss Support Hub Launches at Brampton Manor

Brampton Manor partners with Suffolk Sight to host monthly support sessions for those living with sight loss. Free, local and open to the community.

Brampton Manor is proud to announce the launch of a new partnership with Suffolk Sight, a respected local charity dedicated to supporting individuals living with sight loss. This new initiative brings monthly support sessions into the heart of our home, offering trusted guidance, practical advice, and meaningful connection for residents, families, and members of the wider community.

The partnership began on Wednesday 14 May with a well-attended session held in the elegant surroundings of Brampton Manor. Residents, loved ones, and local guests came together to share experiences and learn more about the support available to those navigating life with limited or no sight. With vision loss affecting a growing number of older adults, the launch marked an important step in making essential services more accessible locally.

These sessions will now form a regular part of life at Brampton Manor, taking place on the second Wednesday of each month from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Open to all, they offer a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore practical solutions and feel part of a caring, informed community.

For resident Mary, the first session offered reassurance and understanding at a time when it was most needed. “It’s been frightening,” she shared. “But talking to others and learning what support is out there made me feel less alone.” Following the session, Suffolk Sight arranged a one-to-one appointment to provide further tailored support.

At each session, Suffolk Sight’s knowledgeable team will be on hand to provide personalised advice on a wide range of essential topics. These include help with daily living and independence, low vision aids and magnification tools, financial support such as benefits and grants, technology designed for visual impairment, and opportunities for social connection and befriending.

Whether you are living with sight loss, supporting a loved one, or simply seeking information, these monthly sessions offer a warm and welcoming space to find guidance and community.

Danny, Admissions Manager at Brampton Manor, said; “Supporting wellbeing and quality of life is at the heart of everything we do. By partnering with Suffolk Sight, we’re not only helping our residents, but also extending that support to neighbours in the wider community. This is care that connects.”

Offering residential, dementia, and short-stay care, Brampton Manor reflects Boutique Care Homes’ belief in care so good, it’s unexpected. Guided by the ethos of being a warm and loving family where everyone feels at home, the home continues to build meaningful partnerships that enrich life for all.
