First River Visit

At last we were able to go on a bus trip since the lockdown. We had the perfect day for a scenic drive and time at the river with plenty of wild life and domestic dog walkers to enjoy.

Live Music by kind volunteer Morgan

A big Thank You to the wonderful and talented Morgan Padoe who came to play the violin and piano for us all! It was very special and thoroughly enjoyed. What a wonderful thing to do! Morgan volunteering to entertain everyone.

Word Game Challenges, Yoga and Jukebox Sing Along

We nearly took the roof off with Jukebox requests, Sing Along and dancing this week! One request for the National anthem had everyone standing and some high emotions! Lovely to see. Keeping our minds active, exercising, dancing and being social are some of our favourite of the simple things in life. Dancing down to breakfast and hearing laughter first thing in the morning is a great way to start the day! Word game challenges- 100 words out of one! Word associate, comedy, yoga, relaxation and meditation practice. Making the most of the glorious weather with outdoor Yoga and playing competitive croquet. Remarkably, with careful direction people who are registered blind have succeeded in playing and enjoying the challenge! Inspiring to see.

Fundraising Dementia Walk

Wow to the effort all our wonderful residents, families, friends and staff made. Truly inspiring - pushed themselves to the Finnish Line - above and beyond. Plus many have been building up to it for weeks! So so proud of them all! In aid of Purple Angels Dementia Awareness charity #purpleangles we raised an outstanding £887.41. What inspiring people that live and work at The Burlington and all our wonderful families who support us in every way. Thank you all for participating in our Sponsored walk, inspired by Sir Tom Moore and making it a happy success. You are all wonderful!
