International Kindness Day
International World Kindness day today was another one of fun despite it being Friday 13th and lucky for some at Bingo! Exercises for our keep fit enthusiasts! Crafty Card Club getting started for Christmas! Pamper day! Hair, nails and keep fit! "Lovely to see my Auntie Betty always up and joining in." At The Burlington we luckily witness acts of kindness everyday by our caring team.
Thank you to our District Nurses
Thanking our district nurses in appreciation for all they have done during the lockdowns!
Reminiscing and Sing along were the order of the afternoon activities including a residents meeting.
Rememberance Day
Remembrance Day at the Burlington has been one we shall always remember. Our new head chef did us proud with a very grand display of memorabilia. Here we observed the 2 minute silence, followed by a beautiful reading by our wonderfully eloquent Eleanor, the poem "In Flanders Fields" by Dr John McCrae, written in 1915, is the reason that we use poppies to remember those that have died in war. Followed by the BBC service in several of our lounges. Many a tear was shed and story shared. A poignant morning of solidarity. The trench cake and poppy cup cakes were so clever!
Celebrations
A week of celebrations, recognitions, thanks, birthdays and maternity - Truly a wonderful atmosphere! What amazing people who live and work at the Burlington! A great start to the week with a very Happy Birthday celebration with beautifully wrapped gifts sent by our birthday girl’s loved ones.
Welcome to our new Amazing Chef
We are delighted to welcome our new Head Chef Jennifer to our Burlington Team, she has already spoilt us with several celebration cakes this week!
