Walking in a Winter Wonderland at Brampton Manor

Brampton Manor Care Home in Newmarket ensured that their residents and families were getting into the festive spirit with the switching on of their very own Christmas lights walkthrough display.

The care home in the heart of Newmarket, Suffolk invited their residents, loved ones and friends from the community, to come and experience their very own winter wonderland walk to welcome in the festive season.

Visitors were treated upon arrival to the front of the building illuminated in lights, but the main display was yet to come as care home staff had created a walk through the landscaped gardens, with a variety of displays accompanied by music to really bring Christmas to life.

Behind a carefully concealed curtain was an illuminated archway and the entire perimeter of the garden had been lit up with a variety of festive scenes. This included reindeer, snowmen, a gingerbread man, festive puppy, penguins, Father Christmas and of course, beautiful decorative lighting on trees, archways and pagoda.

The scenes were truly magical and created a unique experience that allowed everyone to enjoy a lap of the home to soak up the illuminations. Residents and their families were enchanted by the lights which exuded the spirit of Christmas in all its glory.

Zoe Kirk, the home manager, said the following about the display “If anyone wasn’t quite in the festive spirit yet then they certainly are now! To see the garden lit up and the ladies and gentlemen who live with us fully getting into the spirit, most importantly with their family and friends, is exactly why Brampton Manor has built its reputation for providing not just excellent care, but a real feeling of family and togetherness.  I was not able to see the full display until the evening and I really want to pass on my thanks to Matt and Trevor, our maintenance team, for creating an amazing experience for everyone.”

The display was opened by the Newmarket Mayor, a good friend of the home, Councillor Philippa Winter, Councillor Winter told us “This was truly superb display, even I did not know what to expect then we pulled back the curtains and it was truly spectacular for those in attendance.  The home has grown massively since opening and we are lucky to have such a valuable service in the town”
