Brampton Manor Resident Wins Big at the Newmarket Races

Newmarket Care Home, Brampton Manor, had reason to celebrate as resident, Serafino (Gino) Agodino, enjoyed a spectacular win with his horse, Speriamo, at the Newmarket Races.

Gino, who has had a lifelong interest in horse racing,  and trainer P J Mcbridge, were jubilant in their success as Speriamo, took the win in the 5.20pm race win on October 19th. Wearing the number 9 in red, with a large white cross, Speriamo was ridden to 1st place by Jockey, A J Farragher.

Harry Macdonald, Head of lifestyle and wellbeing said:

“It is great for us to be able to celebrate such a win with Gino. There is such a great passion for both, horses and racing from all of our residents.  This win certainly didn’t go un-noticed by staff and his fellow residents at the home."

The Team at Brampton believe that supporting residents wishes and empowering their interests is vital for an empowered and engaged life. Following his win, Brampton Manor celebrated with an outing to the National Horse Racing Museum. Gino was in his element as he reunited with many of the museum staff and touring the museum in the home of British horse racing.

Brampton Manor, part of the Boutique Care Homes family of residential and dementia care homes, has the ethos of being a ‘Warm and Loving family, Where Everyone Feels at Home’. Empowering resident interests and keeping them connected the wider community is the perfect example of the home truly living and delivering on this ethos.

The team at Brampton Manor Care Home look forward and hope for many more wins with Speriamo and supporting Gino to continue to go to the races. Brampton Manor would like to extend their thanks to the National Horse Racing Museum for their help and support and look forward to continuing to work closely with the community in the future.
