The Burlington Care Home shortlisted
for Surrey Care Awards 2022
Shepperton based care home, The Burlington, has been shortlisted for three prestigious awards at the 12th annual Surrey Care Awards.
The team at The Burlington are delighted to be finalists in three categories Care Home of The Year, Residents Involvement Champion and Care Worker of the Year at the 2022 Surrey Care Awards.
Each year, the Surrey Care Awards recognise and celebrate the fantastic work of social care workers from across Surrey who work so hard, despite everyday challenges to deliver the best care possible.
The recognition of The Burlington’s nomination for Care Home of The Year and Resident Involvement Champions is a great honour for the hardworking and compassionate team. As part of the nomination submission by Boutique Care Homes, it was noted that:
“The Burlington provides the highest standard of compassionate care tailored to the individual, with true family values. Residents enjoy their later years in maximum comfort and find fulfilment with a choice of activities and entertainment. The Burlington is committed to making sure every resident feels at home when they move in, with a family-centred approach at the heart of everything we do.”
Alongside the home nominations, Angela Munns, Care Coordinator, is shortlisted for Care Worker of The Year and was nominated on account of being, “an extraordinary Dementia Care Leader with a high level of expertise.”
Angela started her career as a psychiatric nurse more than 40 years ago, and in the last 10 years she has developed a passion for dementia care, based on personal experience, and also through her work as a Dementia Lead in a dementia care community.
Angela describes working in a dementia environment as “a sense of nurturing, belonging and being able to take pleasure in frequent magic moments,” enabling the team to develop the joy of caring for residents living with dementia.
The Surrey Care Award’s gala ceremony will be taking place on the 18th of November at the Copthorne Hotel Effingham Gatwick, where The Burlington team will be eager to hear whether they have won these prestigious awards.
