Our residents are amazing! No complaints while the temperatures soared to 36 degrees! Many relaxed in the garden shade, favourite TV series in the lounge to keep cool, while others tried their hand at Impressionist art. Others learning Qi gong exercise in the air conditiioned lounge upstairs. Another happy resident had her hair done by one of the team who is also a professional hairdresser and our weekly covid testing in care homes was completed very efficiently.
A Big Thank You to our Local Medical Support During the Pandemic
The Burlington would like to say a BIG thank you with these hampers to go to the all medical staff at Ashley Medical Centre, for all their help during the difficult lockdown, to Boots in Weybridge, and for continual deliveries of fruit and vegetables and James the Butcher. Your constant support had been deeply appreciated.
Many Activities to Keep us Engaged
Another warm summer afternoon enjoying socialising and walking in our lovely garden. Meanwhile in the Piano Bar, the traditional Shove Halfpenny game was played. Only one point between first and second winners! Exercise classes from virtual class for variety, to band and target class. The team at The Burlington in Shepperton find new and innovative ways to challenge that are fun! Doll therapy has given hours of enjoyable role play and engagement. Singing in the rain was a happy theme after the heatwave! Keeping fit and Fabulous to Pure Moods and ABBA , Puppetry, Joke time and Trivial Pursuit showed plenty of strong quizzers! We had Yoga exercise with gong and chime meditations.
Cruise to France
Our Cruise into France started in the Cafe de Burlington listening to French Jazz, French word finds and Ballet class, learning the French terms and exercises. We all enjoyed the French part of our cruise - Bon Voyage! We welcomed the predicted rain and thunder too! Photography club and a talk and comparison on French Impressionism. Finishing the cruise with the tones of the great Edith Piaf, Françoise Hardy and other French favourites.

This week Residents were delighted to have Danielle Maccue back to cut and style hair today! Everyone looked their elegant best and this added greatly to their confidence. Surprise gifts continue to arrive for loved ones which boosts everyones mood.
