Keeping Cool and Busy out of the Heat

A lovely afternoon spent socialising in the garden, enjoying a crossword, poetry reading and delicious cakes with tea.
Comment from daughter of a resident
"Seeing those delicious cakes reminds me how much I’m missing your biscuits! And mum of course"

The Burlington Cruises to a Very Hot Spain this Week

The morning began with artistic work, making fans and drawings. For others a gentle Qi gong exercise and a ball and balance class. In the afternoon we continued our second month cruising, this time to  Europe, starting with the two countries that make up the Iberian peninsular, Portugal and Spain. Residents enjoyed some lessons in Flamenco dancing, quiz, Spanish word game
and interesting Portuguese facts. Also another beautiful afternoon for visiting relatives to be able to sit and enjoy the garden.

Strength Building and Photography Class

Residents building strength in the all round fitness class one morning and a Target Ball class.
The Photography Club has resulted in some wonderful portraits of some of the staff members.
Capturing each of their unique personalities in both colour and black and white photographs.
Our very talented and professional resident,  Marc, certainly has a special talent for bringing out the quality of a person
Can you spot Marc himself? The next club project will be portraits of residents who would like take part.
Residents put great effort into a stretch and sensory, hand, eye, co ordination class to Pure Moods Music this morning.
A wonderful bouquet arrived from a loved one which lighted everyones mood with its beauty.
Though temperatures soared everyone did their best to keep cool with Ice lollies, watermelon and cold drinks during the afternoon. A relaxing time was spent, listening to Poetry and August Daily Sparkle while being absorbed in individual activities. Ending the day with musical requests.
