A Sackful of Handmade Cards

This week we received a wonderful delivery, a sack full of handmade cards! There was one for every single resident and member of staff with a message of support and a unique handmade bookmark! One cards’ heart-warming message: ‘Just a note to say Hi and hope you are staying safe during these awful times. Enclosed is a bookmark to remind you that you’re not alone when you look at it’ Best wishes Sue

Clap for the Dream Team

We held our weekly ‘Clap for the Dreamteam!’ to give thanks and to celebrate the team at The Burlington Care Home - thank you all. This weeks’ theme, ‘sunhats & sunglasses’ was styled out by our amazing residents!

A lovely afternoon was spent guessing the different sensory aromas of dill, rosemary, lavender & coffee,
and there were multiple ‘full house’ winners at Bingo club!

Cake Decorating on the Dementia Care Floor

Cake and biscuit decorating on the Nostalgia Dementia Care floor (Designated for our residents with dementia).
The residents used sauces and sprinkles to jazz up their afternoon snack!

Gardening Club

A lovely start to the week for the gardening club and a relaxing cuppa admiring the great work!
“So proud of my wonderful daddy; Marc, pictured here. He has always loved to garden and since being at The BurlIngton he has thrived in this area and created a beautiful oasis on his patio. Now it’s so lovely to see him, with the help of the wonderful activity team, creating more beautiful environments in the rest of the home. Cant wait till we can visit and see it all. We miss you. Lots of love to everyone” Daughter of resident.

Doughnut Time

In the sunshine, we enjoyed a cuppa and delicious freshly baked doughnuts.
We had a go at the ‘no licking your lips’ challenge.. it was impossible!
“Ah doughnuts! Grandpa’s favourite! Hope he enjoyed it.” Grandaughter of resident.

Weekly Prize Draw and Bingo

We showed our appreciation for all the wonderful staff at The Burlington with our weekly prize draw.
Thank you all for everything you do every day?
Bingo club had multiple big winners. Well done to Win and Rose for joint first place!

Liz on the Radio and a Sherry after Handprinting

One afternoon we were incredibly excited as we listened to our very own Liz speaking on Radio Jackie!
Wonderful to have it broadcast loud and clear - how amazing our residents are!.. and all topped off
with a fabulous song request.. Tina Turner’s ‘Simply the Best’.
Rounding off a lovely weekend with a small sherry after painting our handprints!
