Keymer Hall to Host “Scam Busters” Talk with Local PCSO
Scams are getting harder to spot, and the people behind them don’t discriminate by age, background, or how careful you think you are. That’s why Keymer Hall is holding Scam Busters, a free community talk on Thursday 13th August 2026, open to residents, families, and anyone from the local Burgess Hill community who wants to know more.
An Afternoon With Someone Who Sees It Every Day
At 3:00pm, PCSO Peter Bowyer-Frost will take to the floor at Keymer Hall to talk through the scams currently doing the rounds, from doorstep cons to phone and online fraud, and the warning signs that tend to give them away. Rather than a formal lecture, the session is built around conversation. Peter will open the floor to questions afterwards, so anyone with a concern, a story, or simply an “is this normal?” query can ask directly.
“We see how unsettling it can be for people to even suspect something isn’t right, let alone deal with it alone,” says Christine Bunce, Home Manager at Keymer Hall. “Having Peter here means our residents and their families get real, practical advice from someone who deals with this for a living, in a room full of people looking out for each other.”
Open to Everyone, Not Just Residents
Keymer Hall’s doors are open for this one, and that’s deliberate. Scam awareness matters just as much for someone still living independently down the road as it does for a resident in the home, and the talk is pitched at anyone who wants to feel more confident spotting a scam before it causes harm.
It’s also, quietly, a chance for local families who may be starting to think about care for a loved one to see Keymer Hall for themselves. “Coming along to something like this is a low-key way to get a feel for a home before you’re ready for a formal conversation,” says Lisa, KEymer Hall’s Admissions Manager. “If you do have questions about care further down the line, I’m always happy to talk them through.”
