Welcoming Spaces

Bistro

The Bistro is where our residents can stop for a chat, read the papers, and enjoy a tea or coffee. It’s also the perfect place for a bite to eat when you visit.

Ensuite Bedrooms

Residents’ bedrooms are beautifully decorated with quality furnishings. There’s storage for personal possessions and some ground floor rooms have a patio or terrace. We also know privacy is important, that’s why all our bedrooms are en-suite.

Hair & Beauty Salon

Our residents don’t need to go out to get their hair and beauty treatments. We have hairdressers, barbers, nail technicians and others who come to Chartwell House regularly.

Hobby Room

Residents use the hobby room to take part in events and activities. We have cake decoration classes, arts and crafts days, board game sessions and plenty of other activities to keep our residents engaged and busy.

Landscaped Gardens

Chartwell House’s landscape gardens are the ideal place to take a stroll or sit outside and enjoy the views. We also use our outside space for BBQs and many of our residents belong to the gardening club.

Connecting Rooms for Couples

We have interconnecting bedrooms available for couples, each with their own individual ensuite bathrooms. Interconnecting rooms offer peace of mind and comfort for couples while still having the space and privacy when required.

Mum who has dementia has now been living in Chartwell House for 6 months and she’s a changed person. This year we have been lucky enough for my mother to have a place on the memory floor at Chartwell House, with her own ensuite room and access to all the communal areas on the secure floor. Team are highly trained, compassionate and genuinely dedicated to the well-being of the residents, who they all know by name. If you are looking for the best environment for a loved one with dementia, Chartwell House is it! We knew from our very first meeting with the admissions manager, we had found the right place.

Our happy family lives were shattered this year when my husband received a diagnosis of vascular dementia. His condition deteriorated rapidly and I was left with the heartbreaking decision of having to find an alternative home for him after nearly 50 years together.
Thankfully, a room became available at Chartwell and, since then, our lives have brightened and the burden of this awful disease has been alleviated. The wonderful team genuinely know him and care for him. Nothing is too much trouble for them and I can see that he is relaxed and contented in their company. Chartwell has lifted the stress and sadness from our family’s situation and we are eternally grateful for their loving kindness. I cannot speak more highly of this wonderful home.
