Martello Manor To Host Hythe Care Forum
Navigating care can feel overwhelming. Whether you’re looking into options for a parent, managing the early stages of a dementia diagnosis, or simply trying to understand what support is available locally, knowing where to start is half the battle.
On Tuesday 14th April, Martello Manor by Boutique Care Homes is bringing together some of the most trusted local organisations and specialists in one place, for one free afternoon. No referrals, no waiting lists, no appointments. Just straightforward conversations with people who know their stuff.
What is the Hythe Care Forum?
The Hythe Care Forum is a free community event hosted at the Tin Tabernacle on Stade Street in Hythe. Running from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, it’s designed for anyone in the local area who is thinking about care, supporting a loved one, or simply wants to know more about what’s available.
It’s the kind of afternoon where you can ask the question you’ve been putting off, pick up information you didn’t know you needed, or just have a friendly chat with someone who understands what you’re going through.
Who Will Be There?
We’ve brought together a broad mix of organisations covering care, health, finances, safety, and community support:
Care & Support
Age UK, Crossroads Care Kent, Hythe Dementia Forum, Ageing Without Children, Town & Country Housing, Welfare Support
Health & Wellbeing
NHS Talking Therapies, Stroke Association, Bowel Screening, Home Optics
Financial & Practical
Hythe Bay Financial, Senior Move Partnership
Safety & Community
Kent County Council Doorstep Crime & Scams, Folkestone Community Safety, Flood Resilience, Royal British Legion
Planning Ahead
WJ Farrier Funeral Directors
Whether your questions are about residential care, dementia support, financial planning, bereavement, or local housing, there will be someone in the room who can help.
Why We’re Hosting This
At Martello Manor, we believe that good care starts long before someone moves into a care home. It starts with access to the right information, at the right time, from people you can trust.
The families we support often tell us the same thing: they wish they’d known sooner. Sooner about what dementia support looked like. Sooner about financial options. Sooner about the services that could have made things easier.
This event is our way of trying to change that for the Hythe community. Bringing organisations together in an informal, welcoming setting means more people can get answers, make connections, and feel a little less alone in what can be a very isolating process.
Who Should Come?
This afternoon is open to everyone. You don’t need to be in a crisis or at a crossroads to attend. It’s just as relevant for someone planning ahead at 65 as it is for a family in the middle of a difficult decision right now.
If any of the following sounds familiar, come along:
- You’re starting to think about care options for a parent or spouse
- You’ve recently received a dementia diagnosis in the family
- You’re not sure what financial support or benefits you might be entitled to
- You’re an older adult living alone and want to know more about local safety and community support
- You work in health or social care and want to connect with local services
