Meet the Bloodrunners: A Special Talk Coming to Chartwell House
There are volunteers in Kent who get a call in the middle of the night, pull on their jacket, and ride out to deliver blood to a hospital that can’t wait. They don’t make the news. They don’t ask for recognition. They just go.
On Thursday 23rd July, we’re welcoming one of them through our doors.
A Morning with SERV Kent
Trevor Sayer, Events and Fundraising Coordinator for SERV Kent, will be joining us at Chartwell House for an evening talk about the charity he represents and the volunteers who make it run.
SERV Kent, widely known as the Bloodrunners, is a charity that runs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Their volunteers ride out on motorbikes and in cars to transport blood products, medical samples, donor breast milk, and other patient-essential items between hospitals, hospices, and healthcare facilities across Kent. Every delivery is urgent. Every delivery matters.
Trevor will share what it’s actually like to be a Bloodrunner, how the charity operates, and the real stories behind some of their most urgent journeys. It’s the kind of talk that stays with you.
Why We’re Hosting This
At Chartwell House, we’ve always believed that being part of the local community means more than hosting events. It means opening our doors to the people and organisations doing extraordinary things around us.
SERV Kent is one of those organisations. Their work sits at the heart of the medical community we’re proud to be part of, and we think our residents, families, and staff will find Trevor’s talk genuinely fascinating.
Whether you know SERV Kent well, have never heard of the Bloodrunners before, or are simply curious about the volunteer work happening quietly around you, this promises to be a captivating afternoon.
