Martello Manor Launches Gift of a Wish Campaign
At Martello Manor, we’ve always believed that care extends beyond our walls. It’s about building community, recognising unsung heroes, and showing up for the people who need it most.
That’s why we’re proud to launch Gift of a Wish – a monthly initiative where we partner with our Hythe community to grant meaningful wishes for local carers.
Why Carers Deserve Our Recognition
If you know a carer, you know the reality. They’re up at dawn, managing medications, navigating complex care needs, and rarely taking time for themselves. They’re the partners, daughters, sons, and friends who’ve rearranged their entire lives to care for someone they love.
They do it without fanfare. Without recognition. Often without rest.
We see this reality every day in our work. Families arrive at our doors exhausted, carrying months or years of responsibility on their shoulders. They’ve been doing an incredible job, but they’re running on empty.
How Gift of a Wish Works
Each month, we’re asking our community: Who do you know that deserves a moment of rest, joy, or recognition?
It might be:
- A spa day for someone who hasn’t had an hour to themselves in months
- A special meal out with a friend they haven’t seen
- Tickets to a show they’ve been dreaming about
- Simply a day off, knowing their loved one is cared for
This month, we’re supporting a local woman who’s been caring for her husband living with dementia. While we arrange his care for the day through our local dementia support partners, she’ll enjoy a spa treatment, lunch at a lovely spot in Hythe, and time with a friend. Flowers, taxis, the works.
Small gestures. Big impact.
